My Story
Quilts are love that you can touch. So much time, effort and care goes into each fabric choice, cut and seam, there's no way that it can't be an expression of love. Love that you can cuddle. Love that is beautiful to look at. Love that lasts for years and years.
I began quilting shortly after my oldest son was born. My husband's grandmother, Claudine, was an avid quilter and showed me the basics. I learned quickly and absorbed everything I could learn about piecing and quilting. During that time of my life, my friends were also getting married and having babies. Quilting became the go-to gift to mark any major occasion. I started simple and small, baby sized quilts usually with squares. From there, my passion and ability grew. Even though I didn't use a pattern, I tried any new technique or piecing method I could find. In wanting to have my hands on all parts of the quilting process, I bought a used long-arm quilter off Facebook and began exploring long-arm quilting. I quickly fell in love with the freedom it gave me to create designs and patterns I couldn't on a domestic machine. I continue to learn and grow in quilting and piecing skills, regularly attending quilt guild meetings and retreats.
I am so happy to be able to share what I have learned with other quilters. Helping others create works of love to share with ones they love is the greatest joy I could have as a quilter.
Long Arm Quilting
After you have completed your quilt top, I am happy to help bring your quilt together and closer to the finish line. Using a long arm quilter with a computer driven patterning unit, I can quilt up to a king size quilt.
All over quilting is a great, cost effective option that packs a visual punch to your quilt.
Custom quilting is a good option for heavily appliquéd or sampler quilts, as it is done by hand and can trace motifs or change pattern as needed.
Machines and Materials
I use a Singer Featherweight and Bernina Artisa 165 for all piecing and applique work and a APQS long arm machine with ItelliQuilter for quilting. I use quilting grade cotton for the fronts and backs of my quilts as well as cotton blend batting for the middle. I love Aurifil thread for piecing and Glide thread for quilting.
